Weknowhavinganon-whitenamecannegativelyimpactyourchancesofgettingajobinWesterncountries.Onestudyfoundthatresumeswithwhite-soundingnameswere28%morelikelytogetacallbackforajobinterview.InFrance,resumeswithNorthAfrican-soundingnameswerelesslikelytoreceiveinterviewopportunities. Inanefforttonormalizenon-AngloSaxonnamesinourworkplaces—andbyextension,tocreateworkcultureswhereeveryonefeelsincludedandwelcome—I’vecreatedashortguideforboththepronouncerandthepersonwhosenameismispronounced.
