Theproportionalityconstantthatrelatesforcetochargeanddistanceisgiventheletterk,orke,andisknownasCoulomb’sconstant. Inenergywavetheory,particlesexperienceconstructiveordestructivelongitudinalwaveinterferencebasedontheirpositiononstandingwavenodes.Constructivewaveinterferenceleadstoarepulsionoftwoparticlesasaresultofincreasedwaveamplitudebetweenthem;destructivewaveinterferenceleadstoanattractionoftwoparticles.Thiscausesthemotionofparticlesandismeasuredastheelectricforce.
