Ifthatbitofworld-buildingoffersnocomfortwhenitcomestodecidingwhetherornottobreakthatincrediblyrareweaponthatisnearlyirreplaceable,thenyou’llbehappytoknowthatthereisasneakywaytorepaircertainweaponsinDyingLight2.Here’showyoudoit: WhichWeaponsCanYouRepairInDyingLight2? TheonlyweaponsthatcanberepairedinDyingLight2arethosethatcanbemodded.Whilethatmeansthatthereisnoofficialwaytorepairanyweaponsthatdon’thaveavailablemodificationslots,thegoodnewsisthatmanyofthebestweaponsinthegamecanbemodifiedinsomeway,whichmeansthatyouwillbeabletoexpandthelifespanofthatonemeleeweaponthatyoujustcan’tlivewithout. Ad Ad–contentcontinuesbelow Inordertoseeifaweaponcanbemodified,you’llneedtoopentheinventorymenu,hoverovertheweaponyouwishtomodify,andseeifthereareavailablesocketstoinsertmodificationsinto.Alternatively,youcanlookforthecirclesnexttotheweapon’smenuicon.Thoseshouldtellyouwhetherornotitcomesequippedwithmodificationslotsandhowmanyslotsareavailable. HowDoYouRepairaWeaponinDyingLight2? Asyoumayhaveguessed,addingamodificationtoaweaponwill“repairit”andrestoreitsdurability.Whilethat’saneatwaytopreservesomeofthebestweaponsinDyingLight2,thesadcatchtothisalreadyquestionablesystemisthateachmodificationyouaddonlyrestores50durabilitypointstoaweapon. Thatbeingthecase,you’resadlygoingtohavetobeverycarefulabouthowyouchoosetomodifyyourweapons.Thebestcourseofactionistowaituntilyourweaponlosesatleast50pointsofitstotaldurabilitypoints(ormore)andthenaddamodificationtoitinordertorestorethelostpoints.Insteadofaddingeveryavailablemodificationatonce,though,you’llwanttoonlyaddtheremainingavailablemodificationswheneveryourweapon’sdurabilitystartsrunninglowagain. Inordertomodaweapon,youjustneedtobuyamodfromaCraftmasterorcraftoneyourself(they’refairlycheapeitherway),openyourinventory,selecttheweaponthatyouwishtomodify,selectthemodslotyouwishtoinsertamodinto,andchoosewhichoftheavailablemodsyouwanttoapply. Again,that’sobviouslynotanidealsystem(andthere’salwaysachancethatTechlandwillupdateitinsomewayviaapatch),butthegoodnewsisthattheaverageweaponthatcanbemoddedistypicallybetterthaneverythingelseoutthere,soyouwon’tsuffertoomuchfromneedingtospaceoutourupgradesabitandonlyapplythemwhenthatweapon’sdurabilityisstartingtodip. HowDoYouPreventaWeaponFromBreakinginDyingLight2? EveryDyingLight2weaponwillcontinuetolosedurabilityandeventuallybreakthemoreyouuseit.Whilesomeweaponsarestrongerthanothers(andtheaforementionedmodificationmethodcan“repair”them),thereiscurrentlynoofficialwaytomakeaweaponunbreakable. Ad Ad–contentcontinuesbelow However,thereisaweaponmodcalled“Reinforcement”thatyoucanapplytothehandleslotofamoddableweaponinordertodecreaseitsdurabilitylossrate.Whilethegamesuggeststhatyoucandecreasethedurabilitylossrateby100%ifyoumaxoutthisupgrade,thatseeminglyjustmeansthattheweaponlosesdurabilitymuchmoreslowlyratherthannotatall.
