Nospeakingpartnerisrequired. 不需要有練習口說的對象。

ThistechniquecanhelpimprovemanyaspectsofyourspokenEnglish: 這個練習技巧可多方面改善你的口說能力， yoursentencestructure,yourgrammar,yourvocabulary, 例如：句型結構、文法、用字等， andmostimportantly,yourabilitytoexpressyourthoughtsandideaseffectively. 更重要的是，可以有效地表達出你的想法和意見。

Sowhatisthistechnique? 所以到底是什麼技巧呢？ Well,here'swhatitis... 謎底揭曉... LearningtospeakEnglishthroughimitation. 用「模仿」的方式來學習說英文。

WhenIsayimitation,I'mnottalkingaboutrepeatingafternativespeakers,usingtheexactsamewordstoimproveyourpronunciation. 我所謂的模仿，並不是要你將母語人士所說的話，一字不漏地重複一遍，藉此來加強你的發音。

I'mtalkingaboutsomethingalittlemoreadvancedthanthat. 我所謂的模仿是還要再更進階一些。

Here'showitworks:youlistentoaconversation,astory,orsomekindofspeech 方法是這樣的：你先聽一段對話、故事或是任何演講， andthentrytodeliverthatspeechinyourownwords. 然後試著用你自己的話把剛剛所聽到的東西複述一遍。

Let'sseethistechniqueinaction: 來看看實際做法： WhenIwasachild... 我小的時候... Whenhewasachild... 他小的時候... Myparentslikedtopretend,likemanyotherparents... 我的父母親和其他父母一樣，很喜歡假裝... Hisparentslikedtopretend,likemanyotherparents... 他的父母親和其他父母一樣，很喜歡假裝... ...thatSantaClauswouldbringuspresentsatChristmas. ...聖誕老人在聖誕節時真的會送我們禮物。

HisparentslikedtopretendthatSantaClauswouldbringthempresentsatChristmas. 他爸媽喜歡假裝聖誕老人在聖誕節時真的會送他們禮物。

Sothat'showitworks. 這就是我所謂的「模仿」學習技巧。

Butthat'sjustonewaytodoit. 不過這只是其中一個方式。

There'reotherwaystoo. 你還有很多方式可以使用。

Forexample,insteadofimitatingverysmallportionsofspeechlikephrasesandshortsentences, 例如，與其模仿演講中的一小部分，像是片語或很短的句子， youcanimitatelargerportionsofspeech. 試著模仿比較長的一個段落。

Sointhiscase,youwaituntilthespeakercompletesathoughtoranidea, 使用這個方式的時候，你等到講者講完一個段落或想法後， thenpauseandtrytoexpressthatideayourself. 暫停一下，再試著用自己的話去表達那個想法。

Anotherapproachistosimplylistentothewholespeechandthentrytodeliverthatentirespeechyourself. 還有一個方式是，你聽完整個演講，再試著用自己的方式表達出整個演講。

Sothereareseveralwaystogoaboutit,butwhatIrecommendistocombinethemalltogether, 我們上面舉了好幾個練習的例子，但我最推薦的是，你綜合上述所有的練習方式下去學習， andIcallthisapproacheasy-to-hardimitation. 而我稱這個綜合學習法為「由簡入難的模仿」。

Easy-to-hardimitationisbasedontheconceptofprogressivetraining. 「由簡入難的模仿」概念的本質就是漸進式的訓練。

Theideaisthatyoustartwithsomethingeasyandthenincreasethedifficultyoftheactivity,forcingyourselftogetbetter. 你先從簡單的開始，然後慢慢把難度往上加，迫使自己進步。

Anumberofstudieshavefoundthiskindoftrainingtobeveryeffective. 很多研究指出，這種訓練方式是非常有效的。

Here'showyoucanapplythisconcept:startbyimitatingsmallportionsofspeechfirstlikephrasesandshortsentences, 接下來告訴你如何應用這個概念：先從模仿演講中的一小部分，像是片語或很短的句子開始， thenmoveontoimitatinglargerportionsofspeechlikelongsentencesorevengroupsofsentences, 再去模仿演講中較長的段落，像是較長的句子或多個句子， andfinally,trytodelivertheentirespeechonyourown. 最後，試著用自己的方式將整段談話表達出來。

Thistechniqueoffersmanybenefits. 這種技巧可以帶來很多好處。

YougettolistenandimitatecorrectEnglish,whichhelpsyoulearntoformsentencesproperly. 你可以聽到並模仿出正確的英文，如此一來，可以幫助你講出正確的句子。

Yougettolearnidioms,expressions,andotherspeakingpatternsthatareusedinday-to-dayconversations. 你還可以學到日常對話的用語、表達方式和說話的模式與邏輯。

Yougettolearngrammar. 你也可以學到文法。

Whenyouimitateotherpeople,you'relearninggrammarthroughaprocesscalledimplicitlearning. 模仿他人時，你其實也正藉由「內隱學習」的方式學文法。

Thisistheprocesswherethelearninghappenswithoutyourawareness. 「內隱學習」指的是你在不知不覺中學習。

Thisishowbabiesandchildrenlearnthegrammarrulesoftheirfirstlanguage. 嬰兒和小孩都是經由這種方式學習他們第一語言的文法。

Whenyouimitate,youdon'tthinkaboutgrammar. 當你在模仿時，別去管什麼文法。

You'renottryingtounderstandwhythepresentperfecttenseisusedinthissituationorinthatsituation. 不用去追究為什麼這種或那種情況要用現在完成式。

Instead,you'refocusedoncommunication—onunderstandingandexpressingideas. 你的重點應該放在溝通上—專注在理解和表達想法上。
