Theyallsettoworkandbynighttimethehouseofstrawandthehouseofstickswerebuiltbutthehouseofbrickswasonlyjustbeginningtoriseabovetheground.Thefirstandsecondlittlepigslaughed,theythoughttheirbrotherwasreallysillyhavingtoworksohardwhentheyhadfinished. However,afewdayslaterthebrickhousewascompletedandlookedverysmartwithshinywindows,aneatlittlechimneyandashinyknockeronthedoor. Onestarlitnight,soonaftertheyhadsettledin,awolfcameoutlookingforfood.Bythelightofthemoonheespiedthefirstlittlepig’shouseofstraw andhesidleduptothedoorandcalled: 'Littlepig,littlepig,letmecomein.' 'No,no,bythehairofmychinnychinchin!'repliedthelittlepig. 'ThenI’llhuffandI’llpuffandI’llblowyourhousein!'saidthewolfwhowasaverybig,bad,andagreedysortofwolf. Andhehuffed,andhepuffedandblewthehousein.Butthelittlepigranawayasfastashistrotterscouldcarryhimandwenttothesecondlittlepig’shousetohide. Thenextnightthewolfwasevenhungrierandhesawthehouseofsticks.Hecreptuptothedoorandcalled: 'Littlepig,littlepig,letmecomein.' Thewolfwasveryangryandgettingevenbiggerandevenbadderbytheminute. 'I’mgoingtoeatyouall,'hegrowled,'justyouwaitandsee.' Heprowledroundthehousetryingtofindawayin.Thelittlepigstrembledwhentheysawhisbigeyespeeringthroughthewindow.Thentheyheardascramblingsound. 'Quick,quick!'saidthethirdlittlepig.'He’sclimbingthetree.Ithinkhe’sgoingtocomedownthechimney.' Thethreelittlepigsgotthebiggestpantheyhad,andfilleditfullofwaterandputitonthefiretoboil.Allthetimetheycouldhearthesoundofthewolfclimbingthetreeandthenwalkingalongtheroof. Thelittlepigsheldtheirbreath.Thewolfwascomingdownthechimney.Nearerandnearerhecameuntil,withatremendoussplash,helandedinthepanofwater. 'Yoweeeee!'hescreamed,andshotbackupthechimneythinkinghistailwasonfire. Thelastthethreelittlepigssawofthebigbadwolfwashimflyingoverthetreetopsclutchingaverysoretail.
