Therearereasonsonemaynotneedaprofilesuchasforthecommoncoldoranissuethatisrelativelyshortinduration(under7days)beforetheissuehasfullyresolved.ThiscanonlybedeterminedbyaPhysician.  Aretheremedicalconditionsthatwarrantaprofileregardlessoftheirseverity?YES,accordingtoAR40-501,Chap3,therearemedicalconditionssuchasDiabetes,SleepApnea,Asthmaetc.thatautomaticallyrequirethatSoldiertoreceiveaprofileandpossiblyaMedicalEvaluationBoard(MEB)orPhysicalEvaluationBoard(PEB). Step2: ThehealthcareproviderorhospitaltreatingtheSoldierisrequiredtocompleteblocks6thru17andsigninblock18,returnDA2173totheSoldieralongwithmedicaldocumentation. Step3: TheSoldierprovidesthecommanderwiththeDA2173andmedicaldocumentation.Theunitcommanderthencompletesblocks19thru34,signsinblock35andensuresitisuploadedintotheeMMPS. Step4: TheunituploadsthesignedDA2173,medicaldocuments,ordersordrillrosterwithintheelectronicLODmodule(eMMPS).Step5ThecommandermustthensignthistypedversionandforwardtotheMSCforreview.  WhatismyUnit'sresponsibility?     ItistheunitcommandersresponsibilitytoensuretheDA2173iscompleted,uploadedintoeMMPSwithallsupportingdocumentationandforwardedinatimelymanner.
