Let’stakethisonestepfurtherwithsomeatmosphericperspective.That’sthekindofperspectivewhereobjectsfurtherinthedistanceseemlighter,moreblue-ishandblurred,becauseoftheparticlesintheairbetweentheviewerandtheobject.Haveanotherlookatyourbouldersanddecidewhichonesareclosesttoyou,thenpaintthembrown.Anythingfurtherinthedistancewillhavemoreandmoreblueinitandbecomelighter.Ifyoudon’thaveanycoloursathandyoucanalsojustshadethemwithapencil,butstrongerinthefrontandlighterintheback. Nowstartdrawingsomeone-pointperspectivecubesintothescene.Thatmeansdrawthemasifyouwerelookingatoneoftheflatsurfaces(almost)entirelystraighton,ratherthanatoneofthecorners.Anythingabovethehorizonlinewillshowalittleoftheundersideoftheobject,becauseyoureyelevelisbelowit,soyou’relookingupatit.Anythingbelowthehorizonwillshowsomepartofthetop,becauseyou’relookingdown.Asyougoalong,thinkofwhatthesecubesandcuboidscouldbeinreallife,ratherthanjustboringboxes,andturnthemintootherobjects.Thiscouldbeatissuebox,adice,anold-timeyTV,anaquarium,abook,whathaveyou.
